   This term (from the Latin persona, meaning "human being" or "character in a play" or "mask") refers to ahuman individual created in the image and likeness of God; in virtue of their reason and will, human persons are capable of either turning to God and living a life of virtue or turning away from God by choosing to sin. (See CCC 355-362)
